As we all know, first impressions are important in the world of fine dining and restaurant signs are no different. But can your choice of signs and signage really make a big difference to how many visitors you get coming into your restaurant?
According to most of the research, the answer is yes.
Conversely a restaurant sign that looks old, unprofessional or one that is badly designed could lose you business as first impressions are so important in todays image driven world.
From menu boards to seasonal promotions, there’s a lot you can do with well designed restaurant signs to help give your potential customers a little nudge in the right direction. While there many different ways to market, producing strong signs still delivers one of the best returns on investment. Well designed signage establishes your brand in the customers mind and invites them inside.
There are a myriad ways in which restaurant signs can be manufactured so lets take a look at a few examples of the most common used methods used to produce a restaurant sign.
Vinyl lettering is the fall back choice of materials for sign makers. It is cost effective, very easy to work with and flexible enough to adapt to most designs.
Custom Vinyl Lettering can be produced in a huge range of colours across the whole spectrum, colours which can instantly grab your customers’ attention and produce an instant impact. On the other hand we can also use a plain white vinyl to print your custom design onto it using any range of colours on our digital printing machines.
Vinyl can be used with all fonts and can produce accurate shapes for lettering and logos. it can be used on a majority of signs from front of restaurant signs to internal wall graphics.
It is also waterproof, weatherproof and UV resistant
Built up lettering for restaurant signs is a great way of transforming a blank wall or brick-work area into a sign board to display your business name, restaurant logo or contact information.
Built up lettering can be made up of many different materials, such as stainless steel, powder coated steel, acrylic and foamex. Want it colored? No problem! It can be powder coated to any pantone colour. You can also combine built up stainless steel with other materials like acrylic and aluminum composite, adding internal lighting for a fabulous variety of new looks.
Steel also comes in different finishes, including brushed and polished chrome or mirror. They all have the same excellent sign making qualities as stainless and have a ‘natural’ finish and always look highly professional. It is also possible to add some superb lighting effects to these signs, including Halo and Face lit lighting, both of which us low energy LED lights
We’re able to manufacture the letters to the exact specifications of the design and there is a wide range of fonts which we’re able to machine the letters to. The letters can either be fixed flush to the wall or raised off the wall with brackets.
This material offers a very inexpensive, but hugely effective way for our clients to portray and display their logos to the exact branding guide lines, simply and elegantly. Acrylic restaurant signs are great for both internal and external use and a choice of fixings are available to fix and finish the sign in place.
There are a number of different acrylic signs, but, by far our most popular version is the ‘glass effect’ range. This version of acrylic is a fairly new type of material and it is truly clear, mimicking the qualities of glass in every respect.
A projecting sign is a sign that projects or protrudes from a building at an angle, normally 90 degrees, these are often called blade signs, protruding signs, panel and bracket signs, or, more commonly, a projecting sign. These type of restaurant signs allow customers to see the business as they approach from distance from either direction on a road.
This type of projecting or protruding sign system is commonly made from aluminium or steel, the fabricated style is to have an internal frame and cladded it with two aluminium trays giving a strong modern clean appearance which is able to take the worst the British weather can throw at it.
They can be illuminated in a number of different ways. Most projecting or protruding sign systems used on shops are illuminated by different methods, this will depend on the council’s laws that govern your area, please check with your local councils planning office for further details.
Windows are an often underused piece of restaurant real estate and can be used to create special effects, convey a specific brand message or display menus.
Our state of the art print facilities and an in-house graphics team allow us to create full colour window graphics, digital wallpaper and eye-catching print installations, giving you the option to really bring your restaurant windows to life.
We use reflective films to combat heat, specialist UV films to guard against fading, frosted window films and solid vinyls for privacy, computer cut logos for branding, or full colour graphics and wallpaper.
